Call for support to ban mercury in dental amalgam

Dear All,
At an international congress in Luxembourg, 10th of November 2007, the European Academy for Environmental Medicine (EUROPAEM) in cooperation with Aktionsgruppe für Umwelttoxikologie (AKUT asbl) Luxemburg proclaimed the “Luxembourg Appeal”.
Scientists, researcher, doctors specialized in environmental medicine, physicians, and dentists as well as politicians, NGOs, and patient groups since long ask for a ban of mercury in dental amalgam. The subjects of this congress were the scientific evidence from observations of health damage in dental medical offices, toxicity of mercury, allergic reactions to dental amalgam and especially health damage to the fetus and children of mercury-burdened parents.
At the end of the congress a “Luxembourg Appeal” was declared and signed in order to exert political pressure on European Union and national health authorities in Europe.
The demands are that:
- the numerous scientifically-based warnings are finally to be acknowledged
and
- the use of mercury in dental materials is banned without delay
The wording of the “Luxembourg Appeal” can be downloaded below as well as List for Signatures. Please distribute this to your friends and colleagues and fax or post the list to AKUT. The German and French translation of the “Luxembourg Appeal” can be downloaded from the website of the European Academy for Environmental Medicine (www.europaem.org), under "Medical Concerns".
We urgently ask you to support us by signing this appeal. Please advertise worldwide for the ban of mercury in dental amalgam.
